Working healthily at Oberhofer

Oberhofer Stahlbau has been awarded the WHP Quality Seal 2025–2027 – the official mark of quality for Workplace Health Promotion in Austria. In cooperation with the workforce and external experts, a working environment has been created that promotes health, motivation, and personal development.

This includes, among other things, a daily lunch subsidy for production and assembly employees, healthy food via app pre-ordering, feedback sessions, and structured measures for long-term health promotion within the company.

Apprenticeship at Oberhofer

Do you want to work with your hands – and keep learning with your head? With us, you get training with real-world practice, and if you wish, also an apprenticeship with Matura (A-levels).

You will work on exciting steel construction projects, learn directly from experienced colleagues, and take on more responsibility step by step.

Metalltechnik: Stahlbau

Lehrzeit: 3,5 Jahre | Berufsschule: Hallein

Du lernst, Rohre, Bleche, unterschiedliche Stähle aber auch Aluminium oder Kunststoff zu Geländern und Gerüsten, Brücken und Gebäudeteilen zu verbinden. Du fertigst Portale aus Stahl, Lüftungsschächte oder Baugrubenaussteifungen und entwickelst deine Fähigkeiten zur Herstellung von Stahlbaukonstruktionen für Brücken, Gebäude, Hochhäuser und den Alpinbereich.

Im Hauptmodul Stahlbautechnik lernst du, die Werkstücke zum Einsatzort zu transportieren und dort zu montieren. Verfahren wie das Schweißen, Löten, Nieten, Bohren oder Feilen setzt du genauso ein wie unsere CNC-Werkzeugmaschinen zur Herstellung der Stahlbauteile.

Du möchtest dich für deine Zukunft noch breiter aufstellen? Dann belege zusätzlich das Modul Schweißtechnik – mit einer verkürzten Gesamtlehrzeit von nur 4 Jahren.

Metalltechnik: Schweißen

Lehrzeit: 3,5 Jahre | Berufsschule: Schärding

Du lernst Bleche, unterschiedliche Stähle aber auch andere Materialien zu Geländern, Gerüsten, Brücken oder Gebäudeteilen zu verbinden. Dazu lernst du mit Schweißtechnik umzugehen, die geeigneten Schweißwerkzeuge auszuwählen und Handschweißgeräte sowie Schweißautomaten zu bedienen.

Nach deiner Ausbildung kannst du dich neben der Fertigung auch auf die Montage der Bauteile spezialisieren.

Technisches Zeichnen

Lehrzeit: 3,5 Jahre | Berufsschule: Hallein

Als Technische ZeichnerIn lernst du, detail- und normgenaue Zeichnungen und Pläne auf der Grundlage von Konzepten, Ideen und Werkskizzen zu erstellen – und ermöglichst so die Umsetzung der Bauprojekte.

Mit computergestützten Konstruktionsprogrammen (CAD) zeichnest du technische Pläne und Dokumentationen, die als Grundlage für die Werksproduktion und Installation dienen.

Konstruktion

Lehrzeit: 4 Jahre | Berufsschule: Hallein

Zusätzlich zum Technischen Zeichnen lernst du, Bauteile für den Stahl- bzw. Metallbau zu planen und setzt diese konstruktiv und zeichnerisch um. Dazu verwendest du moderne Rechner und computergesteuerte Systeme (CAD = Computer Aided Design, CAM = Computer Aided Manufactoring).

Du ermittelst die Daten, mit denen die meist automatisierten Fertigungsmaschinen (CNC-Maschinen) programmiert werden, stellst diese ein und überwachst sie. Bei der Montage baust du die Einzelteile zusammen, testest und optimierst die Funktion der Bauteile und nimmst sie in Betrieb.

Metal Technology: Steel Construction

Apprenticeship duration: 3.5 years | Vocational school: Hallein

You will learn how to join pipes, sheets, different types of steel, as well as aluminum or plastic to create railings and scaffolding, bridges, and building components. You will manufacture steel portals, ventilation shafts, or excavation shoring and develop your skills in producing steel structures for bridges, buildings, skyscrapers, and high-alpine areas.

In the main module, Steel Construction Technology, you will learn how to transport workpieces to the site and assemble them there. You will use processes such as welding, soldering, riveting, drilling, or filing, as well as our CNC machine tools for manufacturing steel components.

Would you like to broaden your horizons for the future? Then take the additional Welding Technology module – with a shortened total apprenticeship duration of only 4 years.

Metal Technology: Welding

Apprenticeship duration: 3.5 years | Vocational school: Schärding

You will learn how to join sheets, different types of steel, and other materials to create railings, scaffolding, bridges, or building components. To do this, you will learn how to use welding technology, select the appropriate welding tools, and operate manual welding equipment as well as automatic welding machines.

After your training, you can specialize in the assembly of components in addition to production.

Would you like to broaden your horizons for the future? Then take the additional Steel Construction Technology module – with a shortened total apprenticeship duration of only 4 years.

Technical Drawing

Apprenticeship duration: 3.5 years | Vocational school: Hallein

As a technical draughtsperson, you will learn to create detailed and standardized drawings and plans based on concepts, ideas, and factory sketches – thus enabling the implementation of construction projects.

Using computer-aided design (CAD) programs, you will draw technical plans and documentation that serve as the basis for factory production and installation.

Design Engineering

Apprenticeship duration: 4 years | Vocational school: Hallein

In addition to technical drawing, you will learn to plan components for steel and metal construction and implement them through design and drawing. For this, you will use modern computers and computer-controlled systems (CAD = Computer Aided Design, CAM = Computer Aided Manufacturing).

You will determine the data used to program the mostly automated production machines (CNC machines), set them up, and monitor them. During assembly, you will put the individual parts together, test and optimize the function of the components, and put them into operation.
